FarmvilleFarmville trick for stopping the farmer from moving

I found a neat trick for stopping the farmer from moving. This kills the delay of the farmer’s movement, and the blocking of your mouse pointer for interacting with objects.

1. If you are already doing things on your farm, go to a neighbor and then click back to your home farm. This will put your farmer in the default position (center of your farm).
2. Place objects around your farmer to block their movement. ALL of the 8 sub-tiles around your farmer need to have something in them. This will block 2 possible larger-grid spaces for plowing (if you use a square grid for maximum use of farm machinery). Delete the plowed or fallow land next to your farmer, if necessary.

a. I used my plow and harvester machines to block two sides of the farmer, and hay bales or animals to block the other sides. Actually, place the bales or animals first, as the farm machines make it difficult to target the remaining sub-tiles for placements. For those wanting to maximize their land use, placing the machinery seems to be an efficient use of the required space.

b. I also used a set of 8 bunny rabbits, which also worked. (Just for the cute factor.)

c. Trees can also be used, so that you have something to harvest and recieve income.

Once blocked, the farmer will not walk or move, nor will visitors helping on your farm move. This makes interaction faster and easier for everyone.

You can also do the reverse and block in your crops and your chicken coop. That is what I did on my farm. That way you don’t have to crowd around your “person” but still don’t have movement either. Just another thought!
