Massively multiplayer online game player role-playing game (MMORPG), World of Warcraft have to write down their original identity, such as names in the game forum. Currently the players are free to use the name as they pleased to play the game.
Blizzard, WoW game publishers have imposed new rules regarding the game. But ultimately, the plan was canceled after protests by thousands of gamers in online forums that game.
The controversial plan was criticized by some gamers because they are concerned about security in the real world. Many gamers fear if they use real names it will affect their lives such as work activity.
At least there are approximately 1000 members of the forum which stated objection to the plan and the planned boycott of WoW
Blizzard’s Chief Executive, Mike Mourhaime in his testimony, revealed that Blizzard has done several studies on the plan. “As a result we decided that for now the real name not required to post on Blizzard forums,” said Mourhaime
Blizzard plans developed system, ‘real ID’ requires each member to write the original name and will be connected with social networks like Facebook.
WoW is a game of massively multiplayer online role-playing game (MMORPG), Blizzard Entertainment’s fourth. Currently has a number of players approximately 11 million subscribers.
